Panthers stretch win streak to four

AJ Gerace’s two-out double in the top of the 10th inning plated DJ Frison with the winning run as the Liberty County Panthers beat Portal 7-6 Tuesday.

Jamison Thomas’ two-out grand slam in the seventh tied the game at 6-6, sending it to extra innings.

Frison finished 2-for-5 and DJ Walker added a triple foe the Panthers (6-2), winners of four straight.

Frison was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Thomas and Carlos Singleton each drove in four runs in a 20-2 rout of Claxton. Singleton had a triple and Thomas added a double.

D.J. Walker was 3-for-4 with two RBIs in the win.

Thomas and Singleton each went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs in an 11-1 win over Portal last week. Nikia Battle also went 2-for-4 and Matt Richardson added two RBIs.

The Panthers started their winning streak with a 17-5 blowout of New Hampstead. Thomas was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, Singleton went 2-for-3 with a triple and Frison was 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Battle, Richardson and Jadon Cruver also had two RBIs in the win.

Liberty visits New Hampstead on Thursday at 5 p.m. and visits Bradwell on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
