Bradwell girls beat Tattnall, now 12-4 overall


Bradwell Institute improved to 12-4 overall with a 51-43 win over Tattnall County in a girls nonregion basketball game Jan. 4.

Three players scored in double figures for the Lady Tigers, who traveled Tuesday night to Glynn Academy for a Region 2-AAAAAA. Jada Brooks led the scoring with 16 points wile Ky’leo Worriels and Jessey Dozier added 16 and 10 points, respectively.


Bradwell Institute boys fall to 2-14 with Tattnall loss


The Bradwell Institute boys (2-14) fell 71-63 to the Tattnall Count Warriors in the nightcap, despite 29 points and seven rebounds from Cameron Fleming. Marcus Lindsey and Ja’don Wyatt added 12 points each for the Tigers.

Liberty County teams swept by Pierce County Bears


Pierce County swept Liberty County in a boys and girls basketball doubleheader Jan. 3 in Blackshear. 

The Panthers dropped a 63-61 heartbreaker to the Bears to fall to 3-9. The Lady Panthers lost 46-28 to drop to 3-9 overall and 0-2 in the region. 


Long County boys hoops improves to 13-3


Long County’s Blue Tide improved to a 13-3 start after a 48-44 win over Wayne County on Jan. 4 in Jesup in a boys’ nonregion game. 

The Tide took on Pierce County on Tuesday night in Blackshear in a 2-AAA game. 

The Lady Tide are 3-13 overall after falling 53-35 to the Lady Jackets.
