The Liberty County Recreation Department administrative office and the Shuman Recreation Center office, basketball courts, and game rooms will be closed Nov. 9-13 because of the annual gym floor refinishing. The SRC basketball courts will be closed through Nov. 16 and will reopen on the Nov. 17.

Basketball, cheerleading, winter tennis lessons, adult flag football and adult basketball registration is set for Nov. 1-20.
Youth basketball, cheerleading
Registration is under way at the LCRD for youth basketball and cheerleading. This program is for Liberty County residents who turn 7 and do not turn 18 prior to Jan. 1, 2008. Age divisions are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-17.
Separate leagues will be formed for boys and girls in each age division, provided there are enough participants. The cost is $15 for basketball and $10 for cheerleading. The deadline for registration is Nov. 20. A birth certificate or other age verification must be on file at LCRD for all participants. Volunteer coaches are needed for all age divisions.
LCRD Tip-off Basketball Tournament
The annual LCRD Tip-off Basketball Tournament is set for Dec. 8 at the Charles Shuman Recreation Center. Age divisions are 12-under, 15-under, and 18-under. There is no fee. Form your team now and sign up for this event.

Team entries are now being accepted for LCRD adult basketball leagues. Entry fee is $150 per team. Deadline for entries is Dec. 7.
