Golf tourney to benefit Long Co. baseball team
The second annual Long County Baseball golf tournament will be  held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cherokee Rose Golf Course in Hinesville.
Sign-up begins at 1 p.m., and tee-off is at 1:30 p.m.
Tournament fees are $60 per person or $240 for a team of four. Lunch will be provided. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams. There also will be prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and hole-in-one.

Youth bowling league set for Fort Stewart
The Fort Stewart Youth Bowling league is accepting registrations for bowlers ages 3-18 (21 if enrolled in college) from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 6, at Marne Lanes on Fort Stewart. Golf tourney planned
The 29th annual Albert Nelson Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 6 at Taylors Creek Golf Course on Fort Stewart. Sunbury 5K set
