Soccer camp planned
The Hinesville Soccer Association and Hinesville Gators are sponsoring an elite soccer camp July 6-9 at James Brown Park for boys and girls ages 6-17.
Participants are asked to bring soccer shoes, shin guards, water bottles, soccer balls and sunscreen. The camp’s training incorporates techniques and foot drills used by European professional soccer teams.
Registration is $150 and includes a dry-fit camp shirt and select game ball. Registration is available online at www.atlanta

Tigers softball tryouts, conditioning set
The Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers softball team will begin summer conditioning Monday, June 1. Conditioning is voluntary and will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Players entering grades 8-12 are welcome to attend. Participants must have a current sports physical to attend.
Attendees should bring tennis shoes and a water bottle. Softball try-outs will take place Aug. 1.

Basketball Bash set for May 22-24
The Memorial Day Basketball Bash is scheduled for May 22-24 in Richmond Hill. 
The tournament, which is sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union, is open to boys and girls in fourth through 11th grades. The entry fee is $175, and the deadline to register is May 18. All participants must have current AAU memberships. Teams will play at least three games.

BI hoops camp set
The first Bradwell Institute Tiger basketball camp is set for June 1-5 for boys and girls in grades three through nine.
The camp fee is $50 per participant until May 22. After that date, the camp fee is $60. All registered campers will receive a camp shirt.
Bradwell Institute varsity coach Rhett Hellgren said incoming ninth-graders are
encouraged to attend to prepare for upcoming team tryouts for the ninth-grade team.
Trainers will include Hellgren, junior-varsity and assistant coach Kenny Wilkinson, freshman coach Jeff Polk and community coaches Duane Johnson, 
J.C. Rozier and Dana King Jr.
Participants will review dribbling, shooting, passing, teamwork and offensive and defensive skill work.
Each day’s schedule is:
• 8-9 a.m. — Early drop-off
• 9-11 a.m. — Stretching, fundamental stations, offense and defense drills
• 11-11:30 a.m. — Team practice
• 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Lunch (campers are responsible for bringing their own lunch. Concessions will be available for purchase of food and drinks).
• 1-1:30 p.m. — Group instructions
• 1:30-3 p.m. — Full-court and team competitions
• 3-4 p.m. — Camper pick-up time.
