Prep volleyball
The Liberty County High School Lady Panthers will be hosting Jackson High in he first round of the state Class AAA volleyball tournament Tuesday. The game starts at 4 p.m. and admission is $5. The Liberty girls finished 24-13 overall and 11-6 in region 2-AAA.

Golf Tourney for homeless
The second annual Memorial Golf Tournament for Kirk Healing Center for the Homeless is set for Oct. 29 at Taylors Creek Golf Course on Fort Stewart. It is open to the public and individuals and teams can sign up. Early registration is encouraged. Play starts at noon that Saturday. Tybee Run Fest
Registration is open for the 2017 Critz Tybee Run Fest Feb. 3-4. Information can be found at www.critztybeerun.com. Runners can race the North Beach Bar and Grill 5K, the 10K, the Chu’s Half Marathon, the Lighthouse Pizza 2.8 Mile Beach Run or the 1 Mile Run, for a combined distance of 26.2 miles — a full marathon. Junior golfers
Hinesville junior golfers ages 11-18 are invited to compete in the AJGT Averifact Fall Junior Classic on Nov. 12-13 at the Joseph M. Bartholomew Golf Course in New Orleans. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard and hosted by the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour.
The tournament entry fee is $185 and includes two days of green fees, tee gifts, and trophies in four age divisions. Recommended accommodations are available at Country Inn & Suites by Carlson/ Metairie, in Metairie, Louisiana. Please call 800-830-5222 for reservations and group rate.
