5-K Run set for Saturday in Ludowici
Kidz-Etc. will be having a 5K run Saturday to help raise funds for its scholarship program.  
Registration is at 7:30 a.m., and the run begins at 9 a.m. at the Ludowici Police Department. There will be several divisions to compete in, with medals given to the first-, second- and third-place finishers. The entry for children is $15 for participants between the ages of 6-12 and $25 for those 13 and older. Each runner will also receive a commemorative T-shirt with their entry.

Golf benefit for Long Co. baseball planned
The second annual Long County Baseball golf tournament will be  held at 1 p.m. Aug. 23 at Cherokee Rose Golf Course in Hinesville.
Sign-up begins at 1 p.m., and tee-off is at 1:30 p.m.
Tournament fees are $60 per person or $240 for a team of four. Lunch will be provided. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams. There also will be prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and hole-in-one. For more information, call 432-6149 or 703-229-2648.
