The seventh annual Sunbury 5K on Oct. 1 attracted roughly 125 runners and walkers.

They lined up for the start at the Sunbury Crab Company.

The race wound around scenic Sunbury and into Fort Morris State Historic Site. The runners circled the earthen-mound fort and back toward the Sunbury Crab Company.

There were several top performers based on age classifications.

Since the first year in 2010, the Sunbury 5K has donated more than $25,000 to charities. Recent recipients were the Liberty County Coalition for the Homeless, Carpathia Paws Animal Rescue and the Vietnam Veterans Association of Liberty County.

The presenting sponsor was Merritt and Grinstead Attorneys at Law. Gold sponsors are Coastal Electric, Darsey, Black and Associates, State Farm/Adam Herndon, and the Sunbury Crab Co.
