HINESVILLE -- The Long County Blue Tide golf team has teed off their 2022 season. They opened the season on Thursday, March 3 with a three-way match against the Bradwell Tigers and Liberty County Panthers at Cherokee Rose Country Club.

The Tide boys and girls both came out victorious in the matches with the boys shooting an overall 181 and the girls shooting a 161. The Tiger boys shot 248 while the Panther boys shot 240. The Tiger girls shot 201 and the Panther girls 210.

It was a successful day for the Tide as junior Bryant Bleyman shot a low 43 with freshman Rence Skipper and senior Jason Carter both shooting a 45 and 46.

For the girls, senior Ashlyn Tully and sophomore Savannah Wells were the low scorers, both cupping a 50. Junior Gracyn Dasher shot a 61 to pace the Lady Tide.

In golf, players shoot the front nine of a course during regular season matches up until the area and state matches.

The Blue Tide will hit the links again on Tuesday, March 22 against Tattnall County at Brazell’s Creek Country Club in Reidsville.
