Tigers fall at Charlton

Bradwell Institute was in Folkston Saturday, playing Charlton County. The Indians quickly dispatched the Tigers 11-1 in the non-region game.

According to stats posted on gamechanger.com, Wes Brooks pitched the first four innings, giving up seven hits, nine runs and three walks, and earning one strikeout. Kai Ash pitched the fifth, giving up four hits and two runs.

The Indians posted four runs in the third and extended the lead by five in the fourth. In the fifth, the Indians added two more runs to close the game early.

Leading the Indians was Andrew Chesser who was 1 for 2 with 4RBIs coming off a grand slam.

Brooks led the Tigers at bat, going 2 for 2 with 1 RBI.

Bradwell was set to host Richmond Hill Monday, but the field conditions were not conducive for play. The Tigers hosted Richmond Hill Tuesday afternoon in a Region 3-AAAAA doubleheader. The results were not available by press time. Today, the Tigers travel to Richmond Hill for a final region matchup of the week. As of Tuesday, the Tigers were 4-11 overall and 0-6 in region play.

Highlanders

On St. Simons Island, First Presbyterian Christian Academy suffered a 17-2 loss at Frederica Academy Monday afternoon.
The Knights racked up 15 hits for the 17 runs, closing the game in the fourth inning. The Knights were led by Brandt Mitchell. He was 2 for 3 with 6 RBIs, including a grand slam.

Knight Rocky Mathis pitched all four innings for the win tossing five strikeouts.
Chris Nunn took the loss, pitching two innings and giving up 10 runs. Highlanders Steven Young and K’Ane Nunn also pitched. Young gave up seven runs.

The Highlanders are 7-3 overall and 3-1 in Region 2-AA. They host Twiggs Academy Friday at 4 p.m.
