INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Liberty County Panthers were tuned on Monday night No. 3 Georgia secured the College Football Playoff National Championship over No. 1 Alabama 33-18.

Panthers football alumni Tramel Walthour suited up for the Bulldogs as they captured their first natty since 1980.

The 6 foot 3 inch, 280 lb. defensive linemen spent his high school years as a 3-star athlete at Liberty County.

In 2017, he committed to UGA over offers from Ohio State, Florida, and Auburn to name a few, officially signing with the Bulldogs in 2018.

Under Head Coach Kirk Warner, Walthour had career stats of 138 solo tackles and 80 assists, 35 tackles for loss of yards, 10 sacks, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries in 45 games.

Walthour appeared in all 15 games in the 2021 season.

His crosstown rival from Bradwell Institute Michael Hagerty was also be active for the Bulldogs.

Hagerty graduated out of Bradwell in 2019 before heading to play tight end for UGA.

The 6 foot 4 inch, 225 lb. sophomore only appeared in one game for the Dawgs; their Nov. 20 contest against Charleston Southern.

The Bulldogs put together a 14-1 record with their lone loss coming against Alabama in the SEC Championship on Dec. 4, 2021.

UGA and Bama battled one last time this season as they went for the national championship inside of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis with the Bulldogs getting their first natty in 41 years.
