Ware sweeps Bradwell in region road games

The Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers suffered their first Region 1-AAAAA setback of the season Tuesday night, falling 43-31 on the road to the Ware County Lady Gators.

With the loss, the No. 6-ranked Lady Tigers slipped to second in the region at 5-1, a half-game behind 6-1 Ware County. They are 17-2 overall.

The Lady Tigers had eight players register points in a 66-51 win over Greenbrier on Saturday.

Parris Parham collected a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds and also handed out five assists. Jordyn Rogers had 13 points and seven boards and Destiny Gethers scored 10 points and pulled down six rebounds. Alysia Estrada, Kaydence Kern and Jamia Ousley had six points each.

The Bradwell boys dropped back-to-back games, losing 62-55 to the Ware County Gators on Tuesday. That followed their first region loss Saturday at Greenbrier.

The Bradwell boys were just 12-of-32 from inside the 3-point arc and fell 58-51 to the Wolfpack.

Christopher Perry led the Tigers with 20 points and had nine rebounds. Zay Thomas scored 10 points and Tahshaun Frasier added nine points.

The Tigers are 16-3 on the season and 4-2 in the region.

Bradwell begins a three-game homestand this Friday against Greenbrier before hosting Tattnall County on Saturday night and Jenkins on January 30.
