Education achievements include 7 Hank White scholarships

The committee for the Henry “Hank” White Memorial Scholarship fund has announced the seven recipients of $1,000 scholarships.
Graduating seniors from Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High School and local residents are working on secondary degrees can apply.
Two scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors at Liberty County High School; Byron Miller and Amber Eikleberry.
Three scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors from First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church; Jasmine Amiker, Dante Faucette and Angeleigh James.
Two scholarships were awarded to residents pursuing undergraduate degrees; Jessica Harvey and Derrick Taylor Jr.
Participating judges were Nicole Carter, Nan Flowers, Faye Terry, Annie McCray, Dorothy Scott and Frances Smith.
No applications were received by the deadline from Bradwell Institute.
Applications for 2008 will be announced in February.

TIFTON — Jessica Hodnett of Hinesville is among 56 students who completed the requirements for graduation from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College at the end of the summer term, according to Registrar Beth Saxon. Hodnett earned a degree in psychology.

Georgia Southern University recently awarded scholarship to local students scholarships:
• Shayna Brown of Hinesville, $2,000 President’s Scholarship.
• Daniel Lee of Hinesville, $1,500 Glenn E. Bryant Scholarship.
• Leo Maldonado of Hinesville, $4,000 President’s Scholarship.
• Carly Patterson of Midway, $1,500 Glenn E. Bryant Scholarship.
Bryant Scholarships recognize outstanding high school seniors from Liberty County. It is named for the founder of Coastal Communications.
President’s scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen, transfer and international students who have a minimum SAT of 1200 and minimum grade point average of 3.2. The selection is made based on a academic record, leadership experience and extracurricular involvement.
