Locals move in military careers

Air Force Airman 1st Class Richard D. Rhodes graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
He is the son of Demy and stepson of Michael Alamo of Hinesville.
Rhodes is a 2005 graduate of Bradwell Institute.

Graves deployed for three months

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Bryan R. Graves, along with 1, 000 fellow sailors and Marines on the USS New Orleans, which is home ported in San Diego, Calif., recently embarked on a scheduled three-month deployment in support of Southern Partnership Station.
SPS is a deployment of various specialty platforms to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in Latin America. The mission’s primary goal is information sharing with various navies, coast guards and civilians services throughout the region.
“The training in which we engaged in will continue to solidify the foundation for global security and prosperity,” said CPR5 Commodore Capt. Peter J. Brennan, SPS mission commander.
Graves is a 2006 graduate of Yelm High School in Yelm, Wash. He joined the Navy in August 2006.
He is the son of Lori J. Graves of Allenhurst and Terrence R. Graves of Lakewood, Wash.


Williams graduates from basic

Navy Seaman Lisa L. Williams, daughter of Cynthia A. and L.C. Williams of Allenhurst, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.
Williams is a 2003 graduate of Bradwell Institute. She graduated in 2009 with a master’s degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
