Shopaholics, recognize your faves

I love to shop. I admit it. I am a “shopaholic.” I struggle with this secret addiction every day, but when the shopping season comes around each year, I just about break into hives. Nothing gives me a thrill like the thought of “Black Friday.” As I have aged, I’ve lost some of my stamina for “hunting,” but I do still love to find a great bargain.
I consider myself a shopping connoisseur, so I can tell you that I always appreciate the stores and businesses that work hard to make shopping a pleasure for addicts like me.
You see, we addicts prefer shopping in establishments that are attractive inside and out. We take a great deal of pleasure in patronizing businesses that are appealing and clean. As a matter of fact, we are more often drawn to such locations, which means more sales for the attractive stores’ owners. So, I’d like happy shoppers everywhere to take note: The nomination period for the quarterly Win-dex Awards runs from Dec. 1-31, and it‘s a great opportunity to recognize the cleanest and most appealing shops and businesses in Liberty County.
The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and Keep Liberty County Beautiful sponsor the Win-dex Awards program to showcase businesses that are well-maintained and tidy. We need your help giving these local businesses the recognition they deserve.
Each quarter, we select two winners — a large business and a small business. So don’t think a small “mom and pop” doesn’t have a chance. Stores, restaurants and offices of all sizes and budgets can keep their exteriors or storefronts neat and their landscape attractive.
All of our past Win-dex winners have been attractive and well-maintained. In fact, there are always so many fantastic nominees,  it’s tough to choose the best. If you have nominated a business that hasn’t won yet, don’t give up. Submit a new nomination. Also, don’t hesitate to nominate your own business or your employer.
We call these awards the Win-dex Awards because we are recognizing businesses that are so clean, so attractive, so litter-free that they have a “streak-free shine.” Our current winners, The Heritage Bank and Walthourville City Hall, are both lovely places to do business.
Nomination forms are available at the Keep Liberty County Beautiful office or at the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce building on Oglethorpe Highway. Requests for forms and nominations can also be e-mailed to klcb@coastalnow.net. Mail completed forms to P.O. Box 829, Hinesville, GA 31310, or fax them to 368-4777. Remember to include your reason for nominating a business.
Shopaholics everywhere, your vote counts! Nominate a business and show your appreciation.
