Judging categories have been announced for the 10th annual Blues and BBQ Festival, which will be from 2-11:30 p.m. Saturday in downtown Hinesville.
Competitors will vie for cash prizes in ribs, chicken, pork butt and people’s choice. An overall winner will be crowned and receive a cash prize.
There also will be a sweet-tea competition between area restaurants, caterers and individuals. The title of best sweet tea in the county will be determined by a people’s choice vote. There also will be sidewalk chalk art, a mechanical bull and more.
Musical acts will take the stage beginning at 4:30 p.m. with Soul Gravy, followed by headlining act Swamp Cabbage at 7 p.m. and closing act 3rd Class Citizens from 9-11:30 p.m.
The event will take place in the public parking lot behind Main Street.
