Celebrate the Fruit of the Vine at the

2013 Tybee Wine Festival on April 10-14

 

TYBEE ISLAND. – Sip international wines and sample fresh coastal seafood and other culinary delights at the 5th Annual Tybee Wine Festival here on April 10-14.

Presented by the Tybee Post Theater, the festival will offer five events. Information and tickets are available at www.TybeeWineFestival.com or by calling 912-663-1099.

Proceeds benefit the restoration of the historic Tybee Post Theater.

 

EVENTS

April 10, 6:30 p.m.

Wining and Dining, The Art of Pairing

Tybee Island Social Club, 1311 Butler Ave.

An evening featuring paired wine and food. A wine connoisseur will lead attendees through a five-course meal.

Tickets, $60 plus $5 tax and handling ($25 is tax deductible)

April 11, 11:30 a.m.

Seafood School, Seafood Treasures from the Golden Isles

Tybee Lite Shrine Club, 1 Meddin Ave.

A luncheon featuring the foods demonstrated, white wine and copies of the recipes are included.

Evening of Oysters and Wine

Marlin Monroe’s Surfside Grill, 404 Butler Ave.

Legend has it that Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, came from the sea on an oyster shell and gave birth to Eros. Thus began the belief that oysters hold aphrodisiacal powers. Enjoy wines that complement your oyster feast, plus live music.

April 13 from 3-6 p.m.

Grand Wine Tasting

Tybee Island Lighthouse, 30 Meddin Dr.

This signature event features wine and food sampling from the area’s favorite eateries. There will also be live and silent auctions and music.

April 14, 12:30-2:30 p.m.

Sunday Champagne Brunch

The Crab Shack, 40 Estill Hammock Road

Close out the festival with a Sunday Brunch. Sip champagne and feast on a buffet of homemade delights, including scrambled eggs, deviled crab bites, chipped pork sliders, a beef round carving station, Bahamian mac and cheese and more.

Tickets - $35 plus $2.50 tax and handling ($10 deductible contribution)
