Editor, Our nation is facing the most challenging economic situation since The Great Depression. Unemployment remains high and businesses are going bankrupt. Our government, including Congress, needs to focus on the economy and supporting businesses and individuals to create jobs.
Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency has proposed new rules regulating greenhouse gas emissions at stationary sources. EPA admits that this could target as many as six million businesses and that it “would slow construction nationwide for years, with all of the adverse effects that this would have on economic development.”
Clearly, these rules need to be postponed before serious damage is done. Congress must act now and focus on helping our economy. While I support fair and constructive oversight, this goes too far.
