Editor, I went to Long County to visit my step-dad on June 2. Simmons and Brewer roads were a horrible mess, especially where you had put clay on the roads. I couldn’t make it up the clay hill and I drive a full-size pickup.
I have traveled up that hill for 30 years and this time Jimmy Horne had to come by and pull us up the hill. I want to thank him again for getting out in the rain and mud to help us.
If an emergency vehicle had to get down that road it would be impossible. I know there have been many complaints county officials keep ignoring. What will make you fix the road? Will it be when there is a death because the ambulance can’t get down the road?
