Flag football registration is under way at the Liberty County YMCA for children ages 3-13. The season begins Aug. 13.
In addition, the YMCA is hosting a Zumba-thon from
9 a.m.-noon July 23. The fee is $10 and the funds will benefit the YMCA’s priceless gifts campaign, which provides scholarships for low-income families in the community. Also, the Y will host a community open house from 1-5 p.m. July 31. The $100 joining fee will be waived for new members.

Hank White Scholarship
The seventh annual Henry “Hank” White Golf Tournament is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Aug. 6 at the Cherokee Rose Golf Club in Hinesville.
The tournament format is a four-man scramble, and prizes will be awarded for first through third place, longest drive, longest putt, straight drive and closest to the pin on holes 3 and 17. Participants will have a chance to win two new cars for a hole-in-one. The prize for acing No. 3 is a 2011 Ford F-150. A hole-in-one on No. 13 will win a Toyota Tundra or Tacoma Extra Cab.
Additional prizes will be awarded during the awards ceremony, and dinner will be served after the tournament.  
The entry fee is $200 per team or $50 per person. The registration deadline is July 30.
