Registration and sponsor opportunities are being accepted for the Long County Alumni Association’s annual scholarship golf tournament. The entry fee is $60 per player and $100 to sponsor a hole. The tournament is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin, longest drive and to first and second place teams. The Hinesville Hurricanes are scheduled to play Saturday in the second round of the semi-professional league’s playoffs. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, hosting the Tri-County Panthers. Tickets are $5, children 12 and younger get in free.

The 25th annual Hinesville Fort Stewart Shrine Club Golf Tournament organizers are accepting team registrations. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Cherokee Rose Country Club. The fee is $50 per person. Hole sponsorships are available for $100, which includes a sign advertising the sponsoring business.
