LCRD youth football, cheer

Registration runs through Aug. 19 for youth football and cheerleading at the Liberty County Recreation Department.
The program is for 7- to 12-year-olds. Age is determined as of Sept. 1, 2011. Flag football is for 7- to 8-year-olds and tackle football is for 9- to 10-year-olds and 11- to 12-year-olds.
Weight restrictions apply to the 9- to 10-year-old and 11- to 12-year-old divisions.
The cost is $20 per child. All equipment is provided, except pants for tackle football players.
If there are enough participants, teams will be formed in Midway, Walthourville, Riceboro and Gum Branch.
Volunteer coaches are needed for all teams. Additional information and online registration is available at www.lcrd.net or by calling LCRD Office at 876-5359.

Long County rec football, cheer

Registration for football and cheerleading will continue through Aug. 8 at the Long County Recreation Department. Football is open for kids ages 7-12 and cheerleading is open for ages 5-12. The registration fee is $25, and late registration is $35. For more information, go to the recreation complex or call 912-545-9112.

YMCA flag football season

Flag football registration is under way at the Liberty County YMCA for children ages 3-13. The season begins Aug. 13.
