STATESBORO — Georgia Southern is hosting four baseball camps for youth age 5 to rising high-school seniors.
The camps get under way June 17 with the first Youth Camp. The Eagles also will hold an overnight camp and a second youth camp in July before holding the prospect camp in August.
The two youth camps are intended for players ages 5-12 and cover a four-day period. The camps are from 9 a.m.-noon. The first youth camp is June 17-20, and the second youth camp is July 15-18. The cost for the youth camp is $130.
The overnight camp will instruct participants in hitting, defense, pitching/catching, base running and strategy. Campers also will participate in live and controlled scrimmaging. The camp runs from July 7-10 and is for rising sixth- to ninth-graders.
The final GSU baseball camp of the summer, the prospect camp, will be held Aug. 17. This one-day camp features instruction and a showcase/pro-style workout. The instructors will teach the skills necessary to reach the collegiate playing level.
All camps are taught by the Eagle coaching staff and players.
