Lauren Christine Jenkinson and Allan Lee "AJ" Schlegel Jr. were married on Dec. 20, 2008, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Hinesville. The officiant was Father Thomas Murphy.
The bride is the daughter of Glen and Maureen Jenkinson of Hinesville. She is the granddaughter of Mildred Jenkinson of Hinesville, the late Walter Jack Jenkinson and Jean Gendron of Hinesville, and the late Donald Gendron.
The groom is the son of Teresa and Matthew Miller of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Allan and Casey Schlegel of Jacksonville. He is the grandson of Carolyn Lenley of Diamond Head, Miss., and Howard Schlegel of Wake Forest, N.C., and Mildred Handfelden of Dayton, Ohio, and the late Charles Robbins.
The bride attends Georgia Southern University and will graduate in spring 2010 with a bachelor's degree in hospitality management. The groom is serving in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her sister, Jessica Hale of Newport News, Va., as matron of honor. The groom chose Brett Stelter of Charlotte, N.C., as best man.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Club Stewart on Fort Stewart. For their honeymoon, the couple took a cruise to Key West and the Bahamas. They will live in Washington, D.C.
