BRUNSWICK — Georgia Trend magazine recently named Southeast Georgia Health System’s two hospitals to its 2014 Top Hospitals list.
The Brunswick campus hospital ranked 16th in the medium-size-hospital category (151-399 patient beds), and the Camden campus hospital ranked 34th in the small-hospital category (fewer than 150 patient beds).
The 2014 Top Hospitals were listed in the December issue of the business and lifestyle magazine.
“Our mission is to provide safe, quality, accessible and cost-effective care to meet the health needs of the people and communities we serve,” said Southeast Georgia Health System CEO Gary R. Colberg, who also is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. “We appreciate rankings like this provided by Georgia Trend because it affirms the hard work and commitment of our team members.”
Information used to determine the rankings came from publicly available data on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service’s Hospital Compare website, www.medicare.gov/hospitalcompare.
The website provides a snapshot of the quality care for more than 4,000 Medicare-certified hospitals in the United States.
The data includes quality of care, patient satisfaction, mortality and readmission statistics and hospital-acquired infections and conditions.
Georgia Trend magazine worked with researchers and health-care professionals at WellStar Health System in Marietta to access and compile the data using a download from July.
