Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Who wants to go to church when the pastor won’t turn the heater on, and you sit there for an hour in the cold?

If the schools are in such financial trouble, and teachers are constantly complaining that they can’t get what they need for their classrooms, then why are schools like Lewis Frasier giving away things like flat-screen TVs, iPods, Kindle Fires and such at their honor roll breakfast? Maybe they should use that money for things in their classrooms.

I don’t understand what the deal is with CenturyLink. We have only one landline, and it’s our business, and we have been working since October to get it straight.

I would like to see what the LCDA has been charging. Will the Courier publish Mr. Spradley’s documents?
