3rd ID soldier remains missing after Talmadge Bridge incident
3rd id

The 3rd Infantry Division has listed Spc. Estephan Nielsen as Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown. The announcement resulted as Nielsen jumped from the Memorial Talmadge Bridge in Savannah on Sunday evening and has not been found.

DUSTWUN is an administrative status used when the Army cannot account for the soldier.

Local law enforcement and first responders responded to a call Sunday around 6 p.m. regarding an incident on the bridge.

A search for Nielsen is on-going. Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield are fully cooperating with local agencies as the investigation into his whereabouts continues.

Army CID is asking for the public's help and urges anyone with information that might aid in the investigation to please come forward. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the Army CID Submit-a-Tip online form at https://www.p3tips.com/tipform.aspx?ID=325.
