The Liberty County School board accepted a bid to re-roof Lyman Hall Elementary School at a called board meeting Friday night.
Southeast Roofing Solutions one of six bidders, submitted a bid for $581,000.
“We were anticipating $800,000 on that, and it came in much lower,” said Deputy Superintendent Cheryl Conley at the meeting. “I recommend action now so we can let them get started.”
Conley added that Southeast Roofing has had experience working with other school districts in Georgia and “they come highly recommended.”
The board meets again for a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. on June 8.
