The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon cutting April 17 for Essence Hair Salon to celebrate the opening of its new salon at 452 W. Gen. Screven Way, Suite D in Hinesville.

Although Essence Hair Salon is in a new location, owner Selena Howard has been in business for more than 15 years. Essence was located in Midway for more than 10 years, but it was decided it was time for a change.

“I am really excited about the new direction,” Howard said. “I have enjoyed being in business for 15 years and hope to be here 15 more.”

The event was attended by Howard’s friends, family and members of the Chamber board and staff. Chamber board member Chris Ellison welcomed Howard to the Chamber and thanked attendees for coming.

Essence Hair Salon provides a variety of cosmetology services including haircuts, extensions, lashes, waxing and facials. Howard also is a Mary Kay consultant and sells a wide array of cosmetic products in the salon.
