The Heritage Bank has announced the retirement of Lilah Bell effective May 4.

Bell was a vice president and branch manager for the bank’s Ludowici Office.

Bell, a life-long resident of Long County, began her 39-year banking career in 1978 at Long State Bank. She joined The Heritage Bank in 1997. In addition to her branch operation and lending duties, Bell took a leadership role in the community, including serving as a director for Long County Cares and as a board member and secretary for the Long County Industrial Authority. She volunteered for Relay for Life and served as an advisory board member for Long County High School.

Heritage Chief Operating Officer Melissa Deal said, "We are thankful for everything that Lilah has contributed to our organization and this community over the past 20 years. She will be greatly missed by our team and her clients, but we’re excited for Lilah as she begins this next phase of her life."

The Heritage Bank is based in Hinesville and operates 17 branches throughout Southeast Georgia. Bank assets total more than $572 million as of April 30.
