Vendor applications are being accepted for Hinesville’s OktoberFest, which is planned for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 15-16, in the downtown Bradwell Park area. The festival features authentic German entertainment and food, beer tent, food court and a marketplace full of arts and crafts vendors. Event organizers say they expect to top last year’s crowd of about 5,000 attendees. Booth rentals are $75 per night if reserved before Oct. 1 and $100 after. The festival will be open from 4-midnight on Friday and from 11 a.m.-midnight on Saturday.
The entertainment lineup includes rock band Liquid Ginger, the traditional German sounds of The Europa Band and the return of Manuela Horn, a yodeling comedienne originally from Austria. Horn also was a top 40 finalist on TV’s “America’s Got Talent” in 2009.
OktoberFest also will feature a German karaoke contest, a best German outfit contest and many children’s activities and inflatable rides.
