County issues new COVID protocol

Liberty County, by emergency order of the Chairman of the County Commission, has issued new protocols for COVID - 19 as a result of the high transmission rate of the virus which currently exist in the County. These new protocols affect only those facilities and employees of the Liberty County Board of Commissioners and do not include those of the Liberty County Board of Education or any municipal government within the County. Protocols effective January 17, 2022 are as follows:

Temperature checks, hand sanitizing, and masks shall be required upon entrance to all Liberty County Commission owned facilities. Masks should guarantee at least two layers of protection.

 

Employees and the general public must practice social distancing while in facilities.

 

In-person general public body meetings may continue, as required, with attendance limited to Board members and those who have been approved for presentation of items on agendas.

 

COVID-19 Signage shall be posted throughout Liberty County general public facilities.

 

Departments shall practice enhanced workplace hygiene by cleaning objects and surfaces regularly.

 

Liberty County departments shall conduct meetings virtually.

 

Employees should attempt to limit movement in their workplaces/spaces. Congregating in breakrooms is not allowed.

 

Employee travel to training and events shall be limited to essential functions only.

 

County buildings open only for limited access to general public.

 

Liberty County rental facilities and gymnasiums shall be limited to 50% capacity levels, except during Liberty County Recreation programmed events.

 

Indoor recreational programming shall continue with the following restrictions/recommendations:

1)     Program participants not actively engaged in activities shall practice distancing.

2)     Attendance at venues recommended for family members only. 

3)     Post programming sanitization of facilities is required.
