County reinstates mask use at their facilities starting Monday

County officials had looked at imposing property tax after the on-post housing manager opened rentals to everyone, not just military families.

An email from the Liberty County Administrator's Office is informing the community that the County will begin reinstating masks use beginning on Monday.

The email from County Administrator Joey Brown said:

"We have been continuing to monitor the issue of rising case numbers and transmission rates associated with COVID 19 and its variant viruses. The rate of community transmission in Liberty County has grown from 39 on July 8, 2021, to 142 as of July 22, 2021. Due to this sharp upward trend and the dangerous Delta variant,  the County has been forced to return to previously imposed guidelines for County buildings effective July 26, 2021. These include:

Mandatory masking for all facilities

Mandatory screening of all patrons

Distancing requirements for employees and groups

Use of digital communication media where possible for meetings

Temporary closure of indoor recreation venues and spaces

Vaccination rates for our County remain extremely low. If you have not already had a vaccination, we urge you consider receiving one and encourage others to do the same. Hopefully together we can help stem the tide of increased illness in our community."
