Long 4-H'ers compete at Rock Eagle

The Long County 4-H Club sent 17 youth to the state 4-H Camp at Rock Eagle for the District Project Achievement Project competition Feb. 1-3.
The Long participants they had 14 students place in the top three in DPA events.  
There were four 3rd place finishers, four 2nd places, and six 1st place winners. In addition to individuals being recognized, the Long County 4-H Club itself was recognized for third place in the Most First Place Juniors competition and second place for the Highest Percentage Improvement Award.
Local contestants were Kayla Jenkins, Megan Alexander, Sean Sphar, Kaitlynn Walker, Megan Gaud, Tori Cooper, Alex Henley, Emily Adams, Sierra Blanchard, Amber DeLoach, Rita Bolick, Mary Alexander, Sara Harris, Bethany Houston, Jessica Shanken, Daniel Middleton, and Austin Overbey.
Adult chaperones were parents Lee Blanchard and Cynthia Alexander and Long County 4-H program assistant Lisa Overbey.
The club will have a Cloverleaf project achievement workshop on Feb. 26 and a horse judging workshop on Feb. 28.  They also will have a Highway Clean-up Day on March 6.
