SAVANNAH — Learning in the early years is the theme for the fifth annual Celebration of the Young Child event to be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Liberty Campus of Savannah Technical College on Airport Road in Hinesville.
“We’re excited about this year’s event,” said Gia Smith, STC instructor of early childhood care and education at the Liberty Campus. “It’s a great opportunity for the children to learn of fun ways to ‘get moving’ and for families to learn about the community resources that are available to them.”
The event, which is free and open to the public, will include free food, prize giveaways and more. It will be held outdoors on the campus and will feature information and exhibits from a number of community partners and service organizations. Kids’ activities include music, a dunking booth, face painting and more.
Sponsors for the event include Liberty Cinema, Gulfstream, Papa Murphy’s pizza, Coca-Cola, Applebee’s and Chili’s, among others.
Organizations that would like to sponsor or set up a booth at the event should email gsmith@savannahtech.edu or call 408-3024, ext. 6024.
