Two dead in car crash

The two people killed in an early morning car crash Thursday on E.B. Cooper Highway have been identified.  

Georgia State Patrol Officer John Snipe said Samuel Joseph Brooks, 25, of Ludowici was driving a 2000 Jeep Wrangler, headed northbound on E.B. Cooper Highway. Brooks' Jeep entered the southbound lane striking a Dodge Caravan driven by Tyquasia Barrett, 20, of Midway, head-on. GSP is still investigating the cause of the wreck which occurred between Riceboro and Walthourville. 

The accident occurred around 6:35 a.m., according to Riceboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief, Dennis Fitzgerald.

The Riceboro and Walthourville Volunteer and Fire and Rescue were on scene assisting GSP.
