Update: Shooting victim, suspect identified

The victim in Wednesday's shooting has been identified as Clyde A. Weeks, 19 of Hinesville. According to HPD Chief of Detectives Chris Reid, Weeks was shot multiple times during an altercation.

Reid said Philemon Jackson, 21 has been arrested and charged with murder, three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon in the commission of a felony. He has made a first appearance where bond is expected to be denied.

Hinesville police are investigating a fatal shooting outside a home on Jubail Drive in Eagles Landing subdivision, according to sources.

Hinesville Police Department Detective Susie Jackson said the shooting occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday and a victim was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center, but the victim's identity was not released. 

A person of interest is being questioned, Jackson said. 

Liberty County Coroner Reginald Pierce later confirmed his office responded to a shooting death in Hinesville Wednesday, but Pierce also did not release the victim's name.
