The Ludowici/Long County Fire Department named Ronnell Houston its firefighter of the year during the department’s annual Christmas party last Friday at First Baptist Church of Ludowici.
Chief Richard Truman presented a plaque to Houston honoring his service.
“Ronnell has been a member of our department for four years and real asset,” Truman said. “He has a wonderful personality, wants to learn as much as he can and is always willing to help others.”
Truman also presented a reflective safety jacket to each department member and thanked them for their service.
In addition to the presentations, the firefighters and their families also enjoyed a meal and reflected on 2014.
