A fire early Monday morning damaged the Stewart Pines apartment complex on the 300 block of Beverly Street in Hinesville. A second-floor apartment was destroyed and a ground-floor apartment was damaged by smoke and water, Fire Investigator Christopher Moss said.

No one was injured in the fire, but several families have been displaced. The fire started shortly before 2 a.m. and is being investigated by the Hinesville Fire Department.
