Update: Roads are reopened and power appears to have been restored after an accident Wednesday on E. G. Miles Parkway, according to HPD.

There could be related road closures later on tonight as further repairs are made.

Here's the original story.

Portions of E.G. Miles Parkway from Deal Street to Palm Drive are closed after an accident shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday. That portion may be reopened later Wednesday night.

According to Hinesville Police Department  Traffic Accident Investigator Aaron Brant, a woman traveling west had a medical emergency and veered into the eastbound lane, then hitting a power pole and knocking it down.

The pole had a transformer, and the accident knocked out power for an estimated 1,000 customers.

The woman’s vehicle stopped near the railroad tracks at Deal Street.

The woman wasn’t injured.
