For the first time in two years, the Long County Blue Tide has a Rocket League team. The Flying Tide opened the fall season with a matchup against the Windsor Forest Knights and they were dominant from the opening touch.

The first match saw the Flying Tide take a 1-0 lead off a shot from Landen Pendleton. The Knights quickly answered before Pendleton notched his second goal of the game.

Mark Chapman added a third goal as the Flying Tide held on to win the first game 3-1. Hunter Rhoden subbed in for the Tide in the second game and made an immediate impact.

Rhoden notched a hat trick in the third game while Pendleton scored another two goals. Louby Richard played a big role in the first two games playing goalie, notching a save and three clears as the Tide took a 5-1 win in the second game.

The third game was once again all Tide as they took a 5-2 win over the Knights. Pendleton had a hat trick this time while both Rhoden and Chapman scored a goal each as the Tide took a 3-0 match victory.

Overall, Pendleton led the way for the Tide with seven goals, three assists and had a 78 percent shooting percentage, making seven of his nine shots on goal.

Rhoden had four goals in his two games while adding two assists.

The Tide will be back on the sticks Thursday, October 1.
