Liberty County Commissioners recognized Ezekiel Walthour for 48 years on the board of assessors.
Walthour was appointed to the board in 1976 by then Commissioner Earl Baggs.
Walthour is a 1957 graduate of Liberty County High School and attended Spring Garden Institute in Philadelphia. He was a missionary in Liberia for the Midway Congregational Church and served with USAID as an ambassador and aid worker in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast and Nigeria, returning to the U.S. in 1969.
“It’s been an honor and a pleasure,” Walthour said. “Caring and compassion can move mountains. United, we can do more.”
