Horses and Heroes Clinic was a success

Editor,

It was an extreme pleasure for us to host Operation Horses and Heroes for four days, from Feb. 18-22.

We cannot adequately express our gratitude for the outpouring of love and support we received from the local community. Our heroes, volunteers and staff could not have done it without the support of the community.

Mother Nature blessed us with four beautiful days of perfect weather. This was our first event of this type, and every aspect was met with success. With everything flowing seamlessly, it allowed everyone to stay focused on the mission of the clinic. Thank you to every individual and business that invested in the program by way of in-kind and monetary donations to ensure it was a huge success!

The list of those who supported the event is too long to print. A special “thank you” to all the volunteers for their assistance through our long days and hard work. It was clearly obvious and gratifying to witness every person present gain something vital from this healing process.

Quoting my son Kyle’s perfect description of those four days, “The participants worked so hard, and did so much good, and I hope they never lose sight of that. Though the events that brought them to us will always be there, I hope we helped them get on the path to being able to not let it hold them back anymore. This event was a time of healing (not just for the participants, but for everyone involved), companionship, learning, hard work, love and friendship. I can’t wait to do it again.”
