It has become increasingly clear that some politicians have just truly lost touch with reality.
For example, the Minority Leader of the United States Senate must be living in the Dark Ages. Mitch McConnell wants us all to believe that more people will return to work when they are no longer “flush” with money. He is referring to the stimulus money people were given during the height of the COVID pandemic. The first two stimulus check were issued under the Trump administration in 2020.
The last stimulus checks of $1,400 per person, and a bit more for families, were mailed out in 2021!
So, McConnell is trying to say people are still rolling in that $1,400 check! He is freaking crazy. That money is long gone. People blew through that check within a month, weeks or days of receiving it. Just goes to show how the super wealthy and powerful have lost touch with middle- to lower-class Americans.
McConnell said it’s the reason there is still a job market problem. Um, maybe he didn’t read the June job market report, which said unemployment is at its lowest at 3.6% and payrolls have increased. Job growth remained strong!
Hey, McConnell, maybe — now hear me out — but just maybe, people are holding out for BETTER jobs; companies who VALUE their employees and are offering a REAL LIVING WAGE.
The highly intelligent (NOT!) Republican Congresswoman representing north Georgia suggested the Fourth of July shooting at Highland Park was a “false flag,” indicating it was a plot by the Democrats designed to make the GOP support stricter gun control. Marjorie Taylor Greene went a step further, suggesting that antidepressant medications might be a reason for the mass shooting that killed seven people.
So, let me get this straight: Most of the GOP are wanting to do more for mental health. They scream, “Let’s deal with the country’s mental health problems!” (Not a gun problem, mind you.)
The GOP suggests the country needs more access to treatments, therapies and medications.
But MTG is suggesting the medication is what caused this shooting?
Is she sure it isn’t the laser-blasting Jewish people she previously blamed for the California wildfires?
Maybe she needs to get her Gazpacho police to investigate this since, right now, there is no evidence that the killer was on any medication, and there is plenty of evidence to show he was a die-hard Trump supporter — not Antifa, not BLM, not a false flag conspiracy theory.
U.S. Rep. Debbie Lesko, R-Arizona, said she would do “anything” to protect her grandchildren, “including, as a last resort, shooting them, if I had to, to protect the lives of my grandchildren.”
OK, maybe she misspoke, but then again, maybe she didn’t. That’s real pro-life stuff right there.
The GOP blamed President Joseph Biden for the increase in gas, despite voting against the price-gouging bill and despite gas prices being higher all around the world. Now that gas prices are falling, will they thank him for that, too?
Don’t hold your breath. And speaking of falling gas prices, oil has dropped every day this month, yet the price at the pump remains high.
Hmm…could it be that the oil companies are enjoying the fact that they get to line their pockets and the pockets of their investors at our expense?
If you’re a Republican age 40 and up who has been paying into Social Security throughout your career, are you pleased to know your party thinks that it is an entitlement they should end in five years? That’s not an entitlement, that’s your money, and they have plans to take it away.
There are still more than 400,000 kids in foster care. Where are all my “we will adopt” pro-lifers at?
I don’t know about you, but when I was 10 years old, I was playing with toys, riding my bike and still enjoying my childhood. These days, a 10-year-old victim of rape has no choice other than to leave her childhood behind and become a mother. That is a disgusting thought.
