The Long County Blue Tide Girls Basketball Team lost a disappointing game to the Savannah Christian Red Raiders on Tuesday, 39-61.
Having to travel to Savannah, the Long ladies never could get in a game. The Lady Raiders were in the zone and made most of their shots on the night.
“They were hot tonight, and their shooting percentage was much higher than ours, and that was the big difference in the game,” head coach Julie Daffron said.
Despite the team only putting up only 39 points, Daffron did praise one of her players.
“Shanetra Quarterman is a sure two points any time she rebounds offensively.”
The Blue Tide girls had been averaging over 51 points a game up to the Savannah game, and they will look to get their offense running smooth again this week.
On Thursday they will travel to Brunswick to participate in the Glynn Academy Christmas Tournament.
“The tournament should help us with our strategy, as we have to take on some bigger schools, this will then make us more prepared for our region games,” Daffron said.
The Lady Tide is currently 3-5 overall, and is 1-2 in the 2-AA Region behind Pierce County (2-0), McIntosh County (2-1), Savannah Christian (2-1), and Appling County (1-1).
