The First Presbyterian swimming Highlanders continue to improve their strokes and time at a recent swim meet held in Atlanta.
Nineteen schools were represented by 416 swimmers at the Atlanta School Girls Invitational.
Junior varsity Highlander Chandler Zabel swam the 100-yard individual medley and cut her personal best time by seven seconds. She also competed in the 50-yard freestyle and the 50-yard breastroke. Teammate Brittany Jackson had her personal best time in the 50-yard freestyle and the 50-yard backstroke. Zabel and Jackson are practicing for the 500-yard freestyle and Jackson plans to add that to her event schedule at the Riverside Military Academy meet on Jan 19th.
Varsity swimmer Bryson Johnson made points for the Highlanders by finishing in fifth place in the 500-yard freestyle. The Highlanders did well considering practice time was limited through exam week and the holidays. The Swimming Highlanders were scheduled to go to Americus for the Raider Invitational last Saturday, Jan 12th.
