The Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers avenged their first region loss – with a tremendous rally.
The Lady Tigers erased a 12-point first-quarter deficit and downed the Greenbrier Lady Wolfpack 46-40 Friday night.
Taniyah Bowman led the way with 14 points, while Bailey Gilmore added eight points and 11 rebounds and Ta’Naya Moore had eight points. Parris Parham recorded seven points and 11 boards, and Ta’Tyana Anderson scored seven points.
The Lady Tigers, who struggled from the free throw line in their loss at Greenbrier, went 15-of-23 from the charity stripe Friday night.
The Lady Tigers improved to 8-1 in Region 1-AAAAA and 19-3 on the season with a 70-9 romp over Jenkins on Tuesday.
Anderson had 14 points to lead the Lady Tigers to a 50-50 win Saturday over Tattnall County.
Ja’Nya Bush scored 12 and Parham added 10.
The Bradwell boys downed Jenkins 58-50 on the road Tuesday to improve to 5-4 in the region and 13-8 overall.
The Tigers also tried to rally from an early hole against Greenbrier, falling just short, 57-53.
The visiting Wolfpack took a 20-6 lead in the first quarter.
Elyjah Thurmon had 20 points and 17 rebounds for the Tigers, while Ja’Mar Price had 10 points and seven assists. Tahshaun Frasier scored seven points for the Tigers, who fell to 12-8 on the season and 4-4 in the region.
Bradwell rebounded with a 64-47 win over Tattnall County on Saturday, as Thurmon poured in 19 points and pulled down 19 rebounds.
Price added 13 points, Perry chipped in 11 and Frasier finished with eight points.
Jeremiah Maynier led the Warriors with 15 points and Nook Pridgeon had 13.
Bradwell completes the regular season February 4 with Statesboro at Liberty County High School.
