On March 20, the LCRD taekwondo team competed in the Georgia Martial Arts Festival in Dalton. Four competitors brought home seven medals.

The team is led by TKD hall-of-famer Rafael Medina and instructor Edmond Conyers. Team trainers say practices and competitions are intensifying as they prepare the athletes for the national qualifier in Daytona, Fla., and the National Junior Olympics in Orlando, Fla.

The coaches said they’re proud to be part of something they feel is truly special by instilling the positive discipline of taekwondo.
