The Hinesville 14U Class AA Barracudas are the 2012 West State Diamond champions.
The Barracudas went 6-1 at the state tournament this past weekend in Conyers to bring home the first place trophy. The boys continued to dominate the United States Specialty Sports Association and still hold third place in the national Power Rating with a rating score of 1,301.
The Barracudas have an overall record of 22-7. The Barracudas have an in-class record of 20-5, scoring 210 runs in their division and allowing 83 runs. The team is preparing for the USSSA 14U Class-AA World Series during the Fourth of July weekend in Tennessee.
The USSSA power rating system was designed as a way to rank teams of the same class that have not played the same number of games. It uses winning percentages of teams and their opponents, along with number of games played and record.
The White Dragons from Texas are No. 1 with a rating of 1389, and the North Charleston Patriots are No. 2 with 1312.
