Last week was a tough one for the Long County High School softball and football teams.
After winning five Region 2-AA games in a row, the Lady Tide lost to McIntosh County Academy, 5-3, on Monday; 1-0 to Vidalia High School on Tuesday; and 4-0 to Jeff Davis County on Thursday. With the three region losses, the softball team’s overall mark dropped to 8-11, and their region record fell to 6-7.
On Friday night, the football team had another tough game against Vidalia High School in Toombs County.  Though the Tide fought hard, they fell to the Indians, 42-7.
With the loss, Long County dropped to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the region standings.
